I grew up in Mount Pleasant, North Carolina. I attended UNC-Chapel Hill and received my Bachelor of Arts in Education in 1992. I wanted to teach English and history on the high school level, but quickly realized I hate bureaucracy and red tape. I started working part time with A-Z Mail and within a year took over the business. I liked the freedom and enjoyed the problem-solving aspects of the business.
In 1995 I channeled my love of progressive rock into the ProgDay Music Festival. It is held every Labor Day Weekend at Storybook Farm on Jones Ferry Road. I’ve brought bands over from England, Finland, Italy, Sweden, Japan, France and even Indonesia! I’ve released several CD’s from the event (please click on the thumbnails to view album information):
Since 2003 my involvement with the festival has been limited because I’m now caring for my mother who suffers from Parkinson’s Disease. The festival is still going strong – www.progday.com.
Besides progressive rock, I am avid reader of horror and science fiction; specializing in pre-World War II pulp writers. I have published a few articles.
Everyone likes to know where their money is going. Unlike franchise stores that line the pockets of executives sitting in offices far removed from the actual customers, Carolina Packaging is completely independent. These are the faces of those who directly benefit from your patronage (please click on thumbnails to enlarge photo):
