3M™ 3294 Vent Tape is a 5 mil pink non-woven synthetic tape with a strip-coated, low-tack pressure sensitive acrylic adhesive. The alternating coated and uncoated zones across the backing are what define this product — uncoated areas remain open to air and gas flow, giving the tape its controlled venting capability while still adhering securely to work surfaces.

This tape is engineered for foam-in-place insulation processes in appliance manufacturing, where trapped gases must escape during insulation injection to prevent foaming voids. It is also used in other industrial assembly environments where outgassing rates are process-critical and visual confirmation of tape placement — provided by the distinctive pink color — supports quality inspection workflows.
