3M™ 4008 Double Sided Foam Tape is a 1/8" open cell polyurethane foam carrier tape with firm acrylic adhesive on both sides. The conformable foam construction distributes stress across the bond line and dampens vibration, making it effective on irregular or uneven surfaces where rigid tapes would leave voids.
This tape is used in manufacturing, fabrication, electronics assembly, and general industrial settings for mounting dissimilar materials, cushioning components, and sealing gaps. It performs reliably in protected exterior environments and indoor installations where direct weathering is not a factor.
The firm acrylic adhesive resists elevated temperatures and solvents. Optimal application temperature is 70°F to 100°F. Each roll is 1/2" wide x 5 yards and is sold individually.
