3M™ 51 Scotchwrap™ Corrosion Protection Tape is a 20 mil black PVC-backed tape with a high-tack rubber adhesive engineered for long-term corrosion protection on metal pipes, conduits, and fittings. Its conformable construction allows the tape to wrap cleanly around joints, elbows, valves, and irregular fitting profiles without lifting or gapping.

The tape is built for demanding installation environments — above-ground outdoor infrastructure, buried pipeline systems, and industrial conduit runs where sustained exposure to UV, impact, abrasion, and puncture is expected. Utility contractors, municipal water and gas pipeline crews, and industrial maintenance teams rely on it for both new installations and rehabilitation wrapping on aging infrastructure.

The PVC backing is rated for continuous use from -55°F to 176°F, supporting cold-climate and high-heat applications without adhesive breakdown.
