Description

3M™ 5958FR VHB™ Tape is a 40-mil black acrylic foam tape delivering permanent, high-strength bonds in demanding industrial environments. The FR designation confirms a flame-retardant, self-extinguishing formulation, distinguishing it from standard VHB offerings where fire-resistance compliance is required.

This tape is used in aerospace, marine, railroad, construction, and industrial manufacturing for mounting panels, signs, trim, and structural components where mechanical fasteners are impractical or undesirable. Its combination of vibration damping, impact resistance, and cushioning makes it well suited for assemblies subject to dynamic loading or harsh outdoor exposure.

Construction consists of a black acrylic foam core with an acrylic adhesive system and a red polyethylene liner. The tape resists moisture, UV exposure, and solvents, with an operating temperature range of -40°F to 200°F. Each roll measures 1 inch wide by 5 yards long and is sold individually, allowing precise quantity ordering.
