3M Double Sided Foam Tape 4004 is a 1/4-inch open-cell polyurethane foam tape with firm acrylic adhesive on both sides, supplied as a 2-inch wide, 18-yard roll. The conformable foam core compresses against uneven or irregular surfaces, filling minor gaps and distributing stress across the bond area in ways rigid tapes cannot.

This tape is well suited to permanent assembly, mounting, and laminating tasks in manufacturing, fabrication, and industrial maintenance environments. The acrylic adhesive resists elevated temperatures and solvents, and the foam layer simultaneously cushions, dampens vibration, and absorbs impact — making it effective wherever bonding and mechanical protection are needed together.
