Scotch® Filament Tape 898 is a 6.6 mil strapping tape built on a clear polypropylene backing reinforced with continuous glass yarn filaments that run the full length of the roll. That fiberglass construction delivers high tensile strength well beyond what unreinforced film tapes can achieve, making it a dependable choice where load security and carton integrity are non-negotiable.

The tape performs reliably in bundling, palletizing, and L-clip or C-clip closure reinforcement on corrugated cartons. Distribution centers, manufacturers, and freight operations use it to unitize products for shipment and secure heavy or irregularly shaped loads that standard packaging tapes cannot hold.

The synthetic rubber adhesive provides high initial tack and long-term holding power, while the polypropylene film resists abrasion, moisture, and scuffing without obscuring labels or markings beneath it. Each case contains 48 rolls, and filament tape dispensers are available separately for high-volume application settings.
